Clearing

Before returning a leased vehicle or selling your vehicle, be sure to clear out any programmed HomeLink buttons. To do this, simply press and hold the outer two HomeLink buttons for 10 seconds, until the HomeLink indicator light changes from solid to blinking.

Welcome to HomeLink training for parking barriers.

  • Before we begin, it is important to note that many parking barrier remotes use two separate buttons to control LOCK, or UP, and UNLOCK, or DOWN operations. Because of this, you may need to train two different buttons on your HomeLink to control your parking barrier.
  • We will be using HomeLink button 1 as lock, or up, and button 2 as unlock, or down.
  • Begin by pressing HomeLink button 1. The HomeLink indicator light will begin slowly flashing orange.
  • Hold your parking barrier remote 2-7 centimeters away from the HomeLink buttons in your vehicle, and press the lock, or up button on your parking barrier remote. Press and hold the up button on your remote for one second, then release, then press the up button again. Continue this “press and release” process until the HomeLink indicator light changes from slowly flashing orange to solid green.
  • Press button 2 on your HomeLink, and the HomeLink indicator light will begin slowly flashing orange.
  • Hold your parking barrier remote 2-7 centimeters away from the HomeLink buttons in your vehicle, and press the unlock, or down button on your parking barrier remote. Press and hold the down button on your remote for one second, then release, then press the down button again. Continue this “press and release” process until the HomeLink indicator light changes from slowly flashing orange to solid green.
  • Your HomeLink buttons will now be able to control your parking barrier.
  • Pressing button 1 will lock your parking barrier, and pressing button 2 will unlock your barrier.
